Cutting your own hair

I managed to get my hair cut a few days before everything shut, but now the locks are starting to get long and I am thinking about getting clippers and scissors and letting my wife or daughter have a go at it.
Has anyone else started doing this? What are the best clippers to buy without breaking the bank? I don’t want to just shave everything off and go for the Kojak look.

Made a half decent effort myself, got a set of Wahl clippers that have 2 “taper” attachments that go around the right side ear and left side ear that gives a short back and sides, left the top for now though. Takes some practice holding up a small mirror in one hand to see the big bathroom mirror behind to view the back of my head, using the clippers in the other hand!! But if it went wrong then it would have been a blade one all over!

Luckily I bought a decent set of Wahl clippers years ago so I took the plunge last week and did myself a 0.50 all over, piece of piss.

You got it mate though i only use 1 mirror plus the keen eyes of er indoors. Not cue ball bald but lovely n short.

Wahl balding clippers?
Highly recommended, have been using them with no guard for years.
Easy to do it yourself with a little practice.
Piece of piss if you've 2 mirrors, but not essential.

Just did mine for the first time with the clippers. Wasn't easy at the back. I now look like an extra from The Shawshank Redemption!

I'm in camp Sold0,been doing mine with the clippers once per week for over 20 years.
However,unlike our dog bothering friend, i dont mince about with any of this number 1 shit,its metal direct to bonce for me.

Got clippers 3 weeks back because my hair grows like wildfire.
New clippers have 25 settings. I erroneously assumed that setting 2 was grade 2.
It was 2mm. Big difference.
Grown back now

Did myself with clippers a few weeks back. I have a mullet, I thought this was the perfect time to have a different style. I'm starting to like it.
